Frequently asked questions:
Who do you typically work with?
I have worked with doctors, businessmen, community/faith leaders, stay-at-home moms, lawyers, craftsmen, first-responders, and more. All are welcome and I provide the level of discretion needed for people in sensitive and high-profile roles.
What ages do you work with?
For Psychological Testing, I can work with patients as young as 2 years old.
For Psychotherapy, I typically see patients ages 16+, though I sometimes make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Do you see couples or families?
I do see couples for Psychotherapy, and I love to do so!
I will do family therapy with families of adolescents as needed, but I do not typically take on families for therapy.
Do you take insurance?
Sometimes, only for psychotherapy. Due to the compromises of quality needed to use insurance, I try to avoid it. However, I do understand that some patients can only access psychotherapy if they use their insurance. So, as long as each patient understands the risks of using insurance (see here), I do accept:
Aetna
Quest Behavioral Health
What are your fees for services?
Intakes are $200/60 mins, and psychotherapy sessions are $185/50 mins.
Psychological assessments are a multi-step process and can range from $1500-$4500.
That seems like a lot of money, doesn’t it?
Absolutely. But, it is a question of priorities and potential. If I told you we could (over time) fix your marriage, move past trauma, or help you succeed at work for $185/week, that might sound like a pretty good deal.
It can be good to think of this like a Psychological investment account: the more you put in, the better life can be over time.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
I am always open to hear your situation and figure out a price that works for both of us. Give me a call and we’ll find something that works.
